The NEOM Plant Portal is an intuitive web application designed to streamline the discovery, interaction and display of both surveyed native and non-native plant species within the region. It harnesses an expansive geospatial database of these specific plants, all of which have been thoroughly processed through advanced geospatial modelling. This sophisticated approach empowers users to effectively evaluate the likelihood of plant occurrence and ascertain suitability within a particular bioregion. Key models incorporated into this process include:

The Plant Distribution Model An intricate predictive tool which proficiently plots the occurrence (with a sample size greater than 10) of native plant species. Relying on in-depth botanical surveys, this model illuminates plant distribution patterns, taking into account 17 critical climatic and environmental variables.

The Suitability Model A strategic instrument designed to embed factors such as optimal habitat and survival elevation range, thereby facilitating the pinpointing of potential sites ideal for planting a range of species. This includes surveyed native species (with a sample size less than 10) and non-native species, thus enriching the scope of regional biodiversity.
